HISTORY

In the 25 years we have been in the industry, there has only been one real change in how a leash is attached to a dog’s harness or collar.

When our team introduced the carabiner hook as an alternative to the traditional snap hook in early 2004, it quickly became a new standard. Today, most accessory manufacturers use carabiner hooks in their products.

Our previous company, Original Doggear, helped introduce many of the innovative solutions you see on the market today. Since 2014, EQDOG has continued this legacy – and now we are ready to present Smart‑Lock™.

HOW SMART‑LOCK™ WORKS

The system consists of two parts: one attached to the leash and one attached to the harness or collar.

The hook (female part) is attached to the leash, while the counterpart (male part) is attached to the harness or collar.

Normally, you have to open a hook with your fingers before attaching it to the harness – something many people find inconvenient. At the same time, your dog is usually eager to get going. But with Smart‑Lock™, it’s much easier – and you don’t even have to bend down.

Both parts are magnetic, so they automatically click together when you bring the leash close to the harness. The magnet simply guides the hook into the correct position. The mechanical hook then instantly locks into the mechanism with a strength of 200–400 kg.

YOU DON’T NEED TO USE YOUR HANDS TO ATTACH THE HOOK.

Just swing the leash close to the connection point, and it locks automatically.

When it’s time to release your dog, simply press the two buttons on the hook with one hand (even while wearing gloves), and the leash releases.
